Our Kinder-GARDEN Cohort meets on Thursday mornings from 9:15 -11:15am at Ridgewood Church in Minnetonka.
The class will have a garden theme, encouraging students to grow both academically as well as in character.
Each class will have 3 sections.
1. During the first section of the morning, we will introduce the week's topic. Each week will have a new topic or concept for the students to learn and we will spend some time practicing the concept through a game or activity. We will be using the Foundations book by Logic of English to develop each week's topic.
2. The second portion of class will change each week depending on the topic for that week. We will be doing read-a-loud's, hands on activities or watching a video during this time.
3. The final portion of class will be focused on caring for others. This may be learning how to write letters to loved ones or creating care packages. Helping the students to focus on thankfulness and remembering the people in our lives we are thankful for.
We will also have a portion of the learning take place together using SeeSaw. Some of these will be based on the topic or concept that was introduced during the class. Other assignments will introduce new concepts and help walk the students through practicing these new concepts. All of the SeeSaw assignments can be done at your own pace. They are designed to help the students interact with each other and learn from each other.
For some, the topics may be an introduction while other students will work towards mastery. You can determine what challenge your student needs.

Kinder-GARDEN Cohort FAQ's
Do I need to attend with my student?
Our Arrow Kids Academy learning experiences are interactive and we ask parents to stay and be involved with their childs learning. However, our we offer a limited number of spaces in our Kinder-GARDEN Cohort for moms to drop off their students, if they participate in the Thursday Mops program or Women's Bible study at Ridgewood. If you are participating in either Mops or Women's Bible Study, your student can join us without your participation.
Does my student need to participate in the online SeeSaw learning?
There is no expectation for your student to have to participate in the online SeeSaw lessons, however the lessons are created to provide further practice of the topics we cover during class. These activities also encourage connection between the students between classes.
I have a younger child who will be attending with me, do I need to register them as a student?
We are developing the activities for 5-7 year old students, but they are easily adapted for younger students to participate as well. If you have a younger student who will attend with you, we recommend that you register them as a student as well so that we have enough supplies for them to join us with the activities we do. Our goal is to learn together so we work to make activities successful for all ages.
I have an older student, can they attend with us?
Yes, we would love to have older students be a part of our Arrow Kids Cohort. These students will help to plan and lead the activities for the Kinder-GARDEN Cohort. Find out more about the Arrow Kids Cohort here.
I am only attending Mops and not Women's Bible study, does my student need to every week or can they just participate on the weeks that we come for Mops?
When you register your student for our Kinder-GARDEN Cohort, please let us know if you are planning to only attend on the weeks that Mops meet (or Women's Bible Study). We would love for all the students to join us every week, but we understand that this might not work for families who have other commitments on the opposite weeks. If you will be missing any of the weeks, please let us know when you register so we can plan accordingly.
If you have more than one student or plan to participate in more than one cohort, we recommend considering one of our memberships. By choosing to make a monthly donation to our ministry you will be able to register for our learning experiences for free. The number of free registrations is determined by the membership you purchase. You can learn more about our memberships here.
