About the event
This unique learning experience will give students a chance to learn about economics in a hands on real life market.
Similar to a garage sale, students will bring genlty used items to sell. It's a great way to help your students clean out their closets and bedroom of items that they are ready to pass on to another family. Each student will create their own booth in the market and will be responsible to selling their items at the booth. We encourage students to only bring their very best items to sell. We will send you a prep sheet to help walk your student through what items to consider bringing and what items to leave at home.
The purpose of this market is to help students learn about percentages. Students can price their items however they would like, however all booths will need to offer they items on sale. Students can choose to have their entire booth 50% off, or mark different items at different sale prices. The only thing we ask is that all items be marked on sale. We will send you a few resources in advance to help prepare your student for working with percentages.
All students will be given receipts to help them calculate the final total. Each student will need to bring their own cash box and change.
Each student is responsible for setting up their own booth. When you register you can select if you want a table or a table and a clothing rack. You will also need to select your set up time. Booths need to be set up by 9:30am on Monday. You can come set up on Sunday night from 6-8pm or on Monday morning from 9-9:30. Tables are first come, first served. There will be enough tables for every student however we cannot guarantee the size table your student will be able to use. There are 3 table sizes that will be available.
At 9:30 on Monday morning we will be a brief training time with the students. All tables need to be ready before the training and we ask that all students attend the training. The market will be open from 10-1:00pm. We recommend brining a sack lunch and a water bottle.
Each student will be required to clean up their own booth and bring home all items that don't sell. Students are encouraged to increase the percentage of their sale prices as the sale goes on to encourage buyers to make purchases.
Once you register we will be sending out a promotional packet that your student can use to advertise the sale. The more they advertise and market their booth, the better chance they will have of selling their items.

This registration covers 1 adult for the Arrow Kids Market. There is no cost for the adult registration, however any donation you make will go towards expenses for Arrow Kids Learning Experiences.$
This registration is for infants who will not be participating in the Arrow Kids Market but will be attending with your family.
